When taking photos of pets, adjust the strategy according to their current state. Pets are fun to work with, and each one is unique. Whether your subject has cute eyes, a wagging tail, fluffy fur, or a charming attitude, every creature has an individual character that is fun to capture.
I like using some props when taking photos for my dog. Last Christmas, I bought a backdrop from here: https://dbackdrop.co.uk/
Then I added some decorations on the backdrop, a beautiful background is finished.

If there are other photographers who provide this I’d like to hear from you. I usually spend most of the day doing one photoshoot. Its challenging because of their long faces, curious nature as well as balancing their surroundings. Not only to get the best shots for the client but also to build their characteri into the portrait as well.

I got to know how to wait for the right moment as they would not pose willingly. But they did get used to my cameral and I can say i got good photos of my cats, both deceased now. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/814007503200645fc9b14e0fd91cea4782689340031a9c23d4880c0c8f517a81.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f39fd3830c58334d01e37c78f35439ea0688412f9f995e7583516867a61fe902.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/d2712040b9d1537d9ca8c2f35fc90e7eb8dfc069e6e521cd473cf043a9b91a20.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/aa79d5092f08a280d878ce1403854153b055ea66d40eea395191592075000d11.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a809f080fbdb40cbacbd6f403d1f90f9a0436c03e65f5ae1bf47bdbf459598cc.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0655960c7a10ac1407564436b8cfb1b4844c23cae11f26111428d92efb79c513.jpg

Thanks for that.

Lett the Sun sometimes be your backdrop.

Peek from behind grass blades and bushes, sometimes even blurring the pet leaving it’s silhouette

If you know what triggers your pet into an action shot, be ready for it.

Don’t be afraid of using filters, experiment with them

To get a photo of her I have to take a lot of her and delete the ones I do not want and keep the ones that are worthwhile. In this photo, I got her drinking water out of a base of a pot that was full of water from the rains. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e44abec45711b2372318a02ed64c6b293e0dfa185e682859490c7150321e04a0.jpg

I also love to photograph shelter dogs! They get that curious look on their face when they don’t quite know when we are about to do and I try to capture that before it changes. I’ve noticed they tend to be really into the treats. I wait until we are done to let them have it but letting them know its there really can get their interest piqued in my direction.

My recent shots at the Mary S Roberts Adoption Center were so much fun. I can’t wait to go back. It’s so exciting to learn they have been adopted after a session. It really warms our hearts and makes all the effort worth it! These sweet pups below are all currently available!
